May 25, 2008 NEW YORK Punk theater prodigies Working Man's Clothes Productions are proud to present the newest innovation in sex and solo performance: the truth. The company will partner with acclaimed comedian, writer and solo performer Desiree Burch to present, "52 Man Pickup" a scintillating evening of stories and stand up in The 12th annual New York International Fringe Festival-FringeNYC. Directed by WMC Artistic Director Isaac Byrne, and starring Burch-as well as a number of ready and willing audience members-'52 Man Pickup' will play at The Jazz Gallery, 8/14 @ 7:45, 8/18 @ 9:15, 8/20 @ 5:30, 8/21@10 and 8/23@3.

New York's favorite alt-comedy diva Desiree Burch has managed to bring in the freshest catch of New York's most eligible; firemen, construction workers, editors, rockers, schoolteachers, bartenders and male cheerleaders, and invites the FringeNYC goers to help 'go fish' through her deck of hilariously true, unadulterated adult stories in "52 Man Pickup," a card-shark's guide to sex in the city that never sleeps with the same person twice.

ABOUT THE PERFORMER
Candid to the core, "hilarious" (NY Daily News) and "vibrant" (Gothamist) writer/comedian Desiree Burch 'stands out... taking on a variety of subjects and fancies.' (Drama Review) This salacious evening of storytelling with combines her work of "tremendous spunk and honesty" (San Francisco Bay Times) with the New York Neo-Futurists in "Too Much Light Makes the Baby Go Blind" and as host/curator for the series NC-17-Rated Lit series, "Smut." Burch also has local renown as star and co-writer for "Rip Me Open," a play created with OBIE-Award winning playwright Kyle Jarrow, as a host for the VH1 podcast "Best Night Ever," and a blogger for 23/6.com. She is a B.A. Theater graduate from Yale University, and her stand-up and solo performance have appeared at Ars Nova, The Midtown International Theatre Festival, The Mae West Festival, Caroline's, Gotham Comedy Club, Joe's Pub, P.S. 122 and the Ohio Theater.
